Alice Bethany Burbridge

I am a hyperrealist painter specialising in painting food, delicious treats and tempting meals, something to please both the eyes and the senses. I’m focused on working with oil paints in my practice and developing this skill further throughout my Fine Art Painting and Drawing degree at Northampton University. I'm creating and bringing to life the different textures within food, making us want to reach out and grab it straight from the painting, making you hungry with anticipation of taking a first bite!

I've exhibited my work in numerous exhibitions throughout the UK with a piece of work currently on display at Bewiched Coffee in Peterborough. My upcoming Degree Show is to be arranged shortly where I will be displaying some exciting pieces that I have been working on this year. I've also had commissions of my work in a number of issues for both Yours and Yours Retro Magazines. 

 

Artists who have inspired me are Wayne Thiebaud, Tjalf Sparnaay, Cynthia Poole and Joel Penkman, looking at their work and seeing how they’ve produced their artworks and also the reason behind their work has been really interesting. Visiting cake shops such as Crumbs and Doilies in London has also been an inspiration for me, looking at all of their lovely cakes on display.
